This uniform consists of a USMC “Vandegrift” jacket with trousers.
The jacket is adorned with World War Two enlisted man’s eagle, globe and anchor insignia on each collar and green on red wool Corporal stripes on each sleeve. The left shoulder has a US made 5th Marine Division patch. Above the left pocket is a clutch back ribbon bar that has American Theater, Asiatic-Pacific with two campaign stars and World War Two Victory. Below the ribbon bar is clutch-back rifle expert’s badge that appears to be new. Jacket is not size or Quartermaster marked. It has a six-button front with one snap near the waist. Each cuff also has a buttoned flap. Jacket is clean and made of forest green wool and is in near mint condition. Interior lining is green cotton with no visible markings of any kind.
The trousers are matching in color and material and are also in excellent condition. Fly is zippered with button at waist. There are two side-seam pockets and two flapped button-down pockets at rear. There is no size or Quartermaster marks but there is the name W. L. QUINONES written on the interior several times.
There is a William L. Quinones that appears in the Marine Corps muster rolls from 1948-1957 which would be correct dates for use of this uniform.
NOTE: After being photographed, the Victory Ribbon became separated from the ribbon bar; it can be found in the pocket of the jacket.
