The body of this jacket is in excellent condition. There is no visible moth damage of any kind. All the piping is present and is bright. Both pillows are present on the back and are also in good condition. All buttons are present and are General Service eagle buttons. Cuffs are functional. Two buttons have a slight push to the face. All exterior seams are tight. Base of collar has hook and eye closure.
Interior is lined with a coarse brown wool material while the sleeves are lined with white muslin. There is a vertical breast pocket along the edge of the left liner seam. Right sleeve lining has one dot for Size “1” and it is also stenciled with an “X.” There is also a blurred sub-inspector’s mark. Left sleeve has a maker’s mark that was blotted out with period ink long ago for some reason. Lining is perfect but for three small holes on the lower left back.
This jacket is in great condition and exhibits signs of only light use. [ad] [ph:L]
