White ribbon which meas. approx. 2.50 inches wide x 7.00 inches long with fringe. Black printing reads “25TH REGIMENT CONN. VOLS. REUNION HARTFORD, OCT. 22, 1891.” Next is a 19th Corps badge followed by “BAYOU MONTECINO, IRISH BEND, VERMILLIONVILLE, PORT HUDSON, DONALDSONVILLE.”
The ribbon is folded over at the top with a thin strip of cardboard glued to it. There is also some moderate surface dirt.
The 25th Connecticut was recruited in Hartford and Tolland Counties in the fall of 1862 to serve 9 months. The regiment was sent to Louisiana where it was assigned to the 19th Corps. The regiment saw action at the places listed on the ribbon. They were mustered out August 26, 1863. During its service the regiment lost 147 men killed, wounded and captured. [AD]
