Plain brass bar at top with cannonball pyramid on top and pin on back. Red, white and blue ribbon with some light stress separations. 1st Division, 9th Corps insignia at center. Blue cross with gold center. Regimental information on the arms of the cross.
The 3rd Mass served in North Carolina while the 58th was raised 1864 and served in the heavy action of Grant's Overland Campaign.
