Top hangar has initials, “F.C.L.”, which stands for Fraternity, Charity, Loyalty, the motto of the Grand Army of the Republic. Original pin is on reverse. Suspended from this is a red, white, and blue grosgrain ribbon with Maltese cross medal, which is marked, “WOMAN’S RELIEF CORPS 1883”.
The National Woman's Relief Corps, Auxiliary to the Grand Army of the Republic, Inc., is a patriotic organization whose express purpose is to perpetuate the memory of the Grand Army of the Republic.
Entire length measures 3 ¼”. Some light surface dirt is present. [sm]
