White metal canteen has original cork and chain. One side has a raised brass plaque with the image of the Capitol building with raised lettering that reads, “SOUVENIR / TWENTYSIXTH GRAND ANNUAL ENCAMPMENT. WASHINGTON, D.C. SEPT. 20TH TO 23RD 1892”. Other side has a similar brass plaque with a raised image of three men with lettering that reads, “GAR 1861 TO 1865. 1892”.
Canteen measures 4 ¼” in circumference. Canteen body has no dings or dents. Canteen sling is a long heavy watch chain. [ad] [ph:L]
