Top bar is done in the shape of the state of North Carolina that is passing through the center of a laurel wreath. At center is a crossed sword and rifle and the words “OLD NORTH STATE – CHARLOTTE 1929.” Suspended from this top bar is a red and white ribbon that holds a medal with oval bust views of Generals Lee and Jackson. Below this is a ribbon with the words “39^TH ANNUAL REUNION JUNE 4-5-6-7 1929.” At very bottom is a shield shaped enameled Confederate Battle flag and “UCV.” Top bar has pin on back.
