Field gray tunic has a “bottle” green collar, a five-button front, four pleated pockets and “bottle” green epaulettes piped in white. Collar litzen are white and green. Above the right breast pocket is a machine sewn breast eagle on a green backing. All buttons have a pebbled finish and look to be original to the tunic. Cuffs are functional and are held closed by a single interior button. The exterior of the tunic is excellent. The material is clean and shows no signs of moth damage.
The interior matches the exterior in condition. There is a greenish-gray colored lining in the shoulders, middle back and chest. Most of the skirt is devoid of lining. The lower right side of the skirt has the pocket for the field dressing. There are numerous markings stamped along the inside right edge. Attached to the field dressing pocket is a worn paper label that reads:
ANKENBRAND U. KLAUE
UNIFORMEN
BERLIN SO 16 KOPENICKER STR. 116
H b. A BERLIN
166
FELDBLUSE
43 50
128
71 64
Also in this area is another smaller paper tag. This tag is also worn and is pinned in place. It is either an owner’s name tag or receipt or perhaps a depot tag.
This tunic looks to be unissued and is in first class museum quality condition.
