Very rare elite unit insignia worn by paratroopers of the 1st Fallschirmjäger Division in Sicily and Italy, 1943 – 1945.  The division was comprised of the 1^st, 3^rd, and 4^th Fallschirmjäger Regiments and the unit fought famously in defense of Monte Casino in 1944. 16 inches in length; very good condition, but with some moth damage and priced accordingly.
