The scabbard is in good condition with moderate amounts of paint chipping and minor surface rust. The handle of the bayonet has stamped in it “1169”. Stamped on the crossbar is “A8471”. On the blade itself there is a symbol of 3 intersecting circles forming a trefoil in the center and a crest consisting of a star on a shield. On the opposite side there is a maker’s mark from “Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co Solingen”. The blade measures 9.75 inches long. The handle measures 4.5 inches long with a working lock mechanism. [mk]
