Model 1942 helmet shell. This is the helmet with the unrolled edge and molded air vents. There is no liner or liner rivets. The outer surface of the helmet has some light rust with light scattered pitting. The inside crown of the helmet has a heavier rust coating. Attached to the helmet is an email that was sent to the previous owner explaining the history of the helmet. The helmet was purchased in Belgium by a businessman looking to buy old farm tractor parts.  He saw the helmet in a barn near Stavelot and bought it from the farmer.
