THREE FRAGMENTS FROM THE LAST CONFEDERATE FLAG THAT FLEW OVER ATLANTA

$1,595.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 846-445

This item consists of three pieces of cotton bunting each meas. roughly 1.75 x 2.50 inches. The pieces are arranged with white at the back, blue in the middle and red in front. From the paper residue present on the top reverse it appears that these flag fragments were glued into a scrapbook at one time.

Attached to the front is a small paper label with an inscription written in strong period ink that reads “PIECE OF THE LAST REBEL FLAG THAT FLOATED OVER ATLANTA GA.” In the far bottom left corner is the date “1866” which is probably the date the three pieces were glued into a scrapbook.

The colors on the three pieces is excellent.

Item comes housed in a heavy plastic holder for safe display.  [ad] [PH:L]
