This is a typical iron cannon ball of the era. Hollow iron ball filled with case shot and would have had a Bormann time fuse. For 12-pounder "Napoleon" cannons.
No Bormann fuse. Iron under plug remains. Iron body shows moderate pitting. Case shot rattles around inside.
This "dug" relic has been cleaned. Drilled through under plug and is safe. [jet] [ph:L]
