Unfinished sight blade, bottom threads not machined! Used during the Civil War, the sight is a small, flattish steel peg designed to protrude from the front of a cannon. It was used to provide additional alignment for aiming the gun. Manufactured of steel marked “42 PDR BT”.  [ws][ph:L]
