Offered here is a rare Civil War-era iron hand grenade. Appearing like a small cannon ball, it was light enough to be thrown by hand into enemy works.
Measures approximately 3.2” in diameter. Its walls are nearly 0.4” thick and there is a 0.7” wide fuse hole in the top.
It is non-dug and so the iron body is clean and smooth with no rust. [jet] [ph:L]
