Very nice condition leather fuse pouch. The leather of the outer flap is in good condition with tooled edge and slight upward curl at the corners. The latch tab is stitched to the underside of the flap. This tab is complete and unbroken. The interior flap is in excellent condition, again with tooled edge. It is complete with both ears and is boldly stamped “WATERTOWN / ARSENAL / 1865 / U.S.” The body of the box and the two belt loops on the back are also in fine shape and show little use. Stitching is complete and unbroken. The bottom of the box has a brass finial. Belt loops are stitched. Leather has fine dark brown tone.
An excellent example of a Civil War artilleryman’s fuse pouch. [jet][ph:L]
