This is a punch that was used to punch the Bormann time fuse. It is 4.5” in length. The handle is made of brass and is half-moon shaped. The punch shaft is made of steel and has a light surface rust. These tools were probably wood working or engraving tools, but have been long thought to have been pressed into service during the Civil War as fuse punches.  There have been battlefield recovered specimens.  [jet][ph:L]
