This pack of 8-second artillery fuses originates from the Frankford Arsenal and was produced in 1864.
The pack is constructed of a drilled wood block covered with a printed paper label. This paper covering is complete and the five cloth tear strips remain. The paper is yellow. All five fuses remain undisturbed inside. The pack is complete and printed label and instructions are clear. A few small pin-prick sized holes in the top and one small tear but, overall tight package. Light soiling, most notably on the lower rear and bottom of pack. [stp] [ph:L]
