This 5.25” long tool was used by US and CS artillery during the Civil War.  Made up of a 4.25” long rod attached an octagonal head.  This head has a hole in the center.  These were used to clear the vent hole at the breech of a cannon. Metal is semi-bright with scattered patches of surface rust. Necessary for any Civil War artillery display.   [jet][ph:L]
