Otherwise a matched set, with identical gilt cover lettering & brass hasp clasps. Identical library stamp on spines, with identical front end-paper presentation page, from Capt. H. D. Bowker, US Army, to the Illinois state commandery of MOLLUS [Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States]. Dated Chicago, March 1907.
Both volumes exhibit moderate wear & chipping at the extremities, with lightly cracked spines. Both signature bindings remain tight. The cavalry volume brass hasp is broken; artillery volume hasp intact. Else VG, with fine text.
A matched & solid pair of Indian war-era artillery & cavalry texts.
