The 7^th New Jersey was raised in September of 1861 and served with 3^rd and 2^nd Corps of the Army of the Potomac. They saw action on the Peninsula, 2^nd Bull Run, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, Wilderness, Spotsylvania, North Anna, Cold Harbor, throughout the siege of Petersburg and the Appomattox Campaign. The regiment lost in killed, died of wounds and disease 13 officers and 247 enlisted men. [AD] [PH:L]
