Full title of this work is “INFANTRY TACTICS, FOR THE INSTRUCTION, EXERCISE, AND MANEUVRES OF THE SOLDIER, A COMPANY, LINE OF SKIRMISHERS, BATTALION, BRIGADE OR CORPS D’ARMEE” by Brig.-Gen Silas Casey, and reprinted by Morningside Books of Dayton, Ohio in 1985.

Hardcover is bound in green cloth with the title in gold on the front cover and repeated on the spine. Covers are in excellent condition. Top of spine has minor rub.

Volume meas. approx. 5.50 x 8.50 inches and runs approx. 462 pages with index. There are numerous fold-out diagrams to help the reader understand the evolutions described.

Binding is excellent. Interior is like new.

Casey’s Tactics was adopted by the US Army in the late summer of 1862 and was to be the manual of instruction for all incoming infantry regiments.  [ad] [PH:L]
