The volume was written by William Gilfillan Gavin and published by Morningside Press of Dayton, Ohio in 1989.
Volume is hardcover and meas. approx. 6.25 x 9.25 inches and runs 773 pages with index. The book also has 38 maps and 25 black & white illustrations.
Covers are dark blue with the title printed in strong gold with the title, author and publisher also in gold on the spine. Both front and back covers show almost no wear. Binding is excellent.
Half-title page is signed by the author to a previous owner in ink.
Nice, clean copy.
The 100th Pennsylvania was raised in August of 1861 and served predominately in the 9th Corps. They saw action on James Island, 2nd Bull Run, Chantilly, South Mountain, Antietam, Jackson, Fort Saunders, Wilderness, Spotsylvania, North Anna, Cold Harbor and Petersburg. All told the regiment lost 18 officers and 391 enlisted men killed, died of wounds and disease. [ad] [ph:L]
