The book is hardbound with illustrated covers that are in excellent condition.

Volume meas. 8.50 x 11.00 inches and runs 393 pages with index. Binding is excellent and interior is very clean. The book is profusely illustrated with color photographs of buttons, plates, buckles, bells, bullets, coins, pottery, clay pipes, silver and any other type of early relic found in Virginia. There is also a section on research and recovery as well as one on preservation.

Dean S. Thomas was known as a onetime Gettysburg Battlefield Guide and early relic hunter as well as the founder, owner, and operator of Thomas Publications. He was also the author of many books related to Civil War ammunition and projectiles. [ad] [ph:m]
