This title was part of The Virginia Regimental Histories Series produced by H. E. Howard during the 1980’s and ‘90’s.
This first edition was written by Benjamin H. Trask and was published in 1984. This book is number 271 of 1000 copies and is signed by the author.
Volume meas. approx. 6.00 x 9.00 inches and runs 106 pages with roster, six black and white photographs and several maps.
Hardcover is gray cloth with the title and the great seal of the Confederacy embossed in gold on the front cover. Title and author repeated on the spine. Covers are excellent.
Binding is excellent. Page edges have yellowed some with age.
The 9th Virginia was organized on July 7, 1861 and served mostly with the Army of Northern Virginia. They lost heavily on the Peninsula, Gettysburg, Chester Station, Drewery’s Bluff and Five Forks. [ad][ph:L]
