This book is titled “THE BOWIE KNIFE – UNSHEATHING AN AMERICAN LEGEND” by the well-known gun expert, the late Norm Flayderman. The volume was published in 2004 by Mowbray Publishing.
The volume is bound with a brown cloth spine bearing the title in gold and plain cream-colored boards which are excellent and still protected by an illustrated dustjacket that is in very nice condition. Meas. approx. 9.25 x 12.25 inches,
Interior is very clean and runs approx. 512 pages with index. Table of contents show 20 chapters covering the history of the Bowie knife as well as a small section on terminology. Volume contains hundreds of black & white and color photographs of Bowie knives and period photos of soldiers carrying the knives. Many various and sundry topics concerning the Bowie knife are discussed.
