Book is titled “THE LITTLE DRUMMER BOY, CLARENCE D. McKENZIE, THE CHILD OF THE THIRTEENTH REGIMENT N. Y. S. M., AND THE CHILD OF THE MISSION SCHOOL” published by the Board of Publication of the Reformed Protestant Dutch Church in 1861.

Volume is hardbound in green cloth with a plain embossed floral decoration. Title is in gold on the spine. Covers show very minor age wear.

Interior is good with only slight toning to pages. Volume meas. 4.00 x 6.00 inches and runs 144 pages with a nice woodcut of McKenzie in the front.

Clarence McKenzie was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1848 and in July of 1860 he joined the 13th New York State Militia. He was killed in Annapolis, Maryland on June 11, 1861 by the accidental discharge of a comrade’s musket. He is buried in Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York.  [AD][ph:L]
