Title page reads “A SOLDIER’S STORY OF HIS REGIMENT (61ST GEORGIA) AND INCIDENTALLY OF THE LAWTON-GORDON-EVANS BRIGADE, ARMY OF NORTHERN VIRGINIA” by Private G. W. Nichols and published by Continental Book Company of Kennesaw, Georgia in 1961.

Hardcover is bound in brown cloth with the title in gold on the cover and spine. Covers are excellent.

Volume meas. approx. 5.50 x 7.50 inches and runs 291 pages with roster and a short index.

Binding is excellent and the interior is very clean. Book has several black & white photographs.

The 61st Georgia was organized on June 1, 1862 and served with the Army of Northern Virginia and taking part in many of the major actions of that army. The regiment suffered heavily at Antietam, Fredericksburg, Gettysburg and Spotsylvania. [AD] [PH:L]
