The full title of this 161 page volume is “GENERAL ORDERS FROM THE ADJUTANT AND INSPECTOR-GENERAL’S OFFICE, CONFEDERATE STATES ARMY FROM JANUARY 1, 1864 TO JULY 1, 1864, INCLUSIVE.” The book was printed by Evans and Cogswell in 1864 and meas. approx. 5.00 x 7.00 inches.
This particular issue of General Orders was accidently printed with two title pages which have minor differences in the dates of the orders covered and over the years has caused some confusion. Most copies of this book are found with the extra title page removed. As stated, this volume has both.
The binding is fair. It has separated some at the bottom hinge and the interior has browned but all pages are legible. There is also some pencil notations around the edges of the title page. Hard covers are wrapped in Mylar for protection. [ad] [ph:L]
