This pocket book was published in 1862 by L. PRANG AND CO. of Boston, with this copy sold by a retailer in Washington DC.  As might be obvious, this work profiles the senior officers of the US armed forces during the Civil War.

Condition is good with light wear to the green cloth cover and noted spine tilt. All pages are crisp and clean with no staining or foxing.  Penciled on the first flyleaf is “Marshall D. Waters from Aunt Carver.”  Marshall Waters does match an available service record for a Private who served in the 9^th Indiana Cavalry – though his term of service lasted a brief 3 days before he deserted.  As Marshall’s records do not include much detailed information, we cannot confirm they are one in the same.  Dimensions of the book are 3.4” x 5.5”.
