Offered is an original 1893 first-edition copy of the official memorial proceedings issued by the State of New York in honor of Comrade and Brevet Major-General James W. Husted.
This rare tribute is bound in its original, heavy military-green cloth boards, featuring bright gilt lettering across the cover and minor shelf wear consistent with an authentic artifact of its age. Inside, the crisp pages preserve the full legislative service conducted at the Capitol on March 28, 1893, and feature a fine engraved frontispiece portrait of the General in full uniform alongside the complete, stirring eulogy delivered by Comrade Chauncey M. Depew. Dimensions are 7.75” x 9.75”
Commissioned by the State Legislature following Husted's final muster out in 1892, this volume honors a man who served as a Union officer, long-time Speaker of the Assembly, and Grand Master of Freemasons in New York. It stands as a premier piece for any historical library focused on Civil War-era biographies, New York military history, or Masonic records. [cm][ph:L]
