A very rare example of an Indian club style decanter in brilliant cobalt blue. Cobalt blue decanters are always sought after but the club shape is rare. Stands 12” tall including stopper. Base is 3 ¾” in diameter. Excellent condition; one small chip to edge of the stopper.
The ‘Indian’ club-shape was popular in England in the second half of the 18th and early 19th centuries and also later on the Continent in France and Bohemia. [ld] [ph:L]
