Large free blown lead glass tumbler with an open pontil. These large tumblers (this one is almost 8 inches tall) historically had many uses. Whether for drinking beer, or communally sharing hard liquor, they were also used to mix drinks before pouring into individual glasses. The lead glass formula precludes a Continental factory, so it was made in either the UK or US. The shape and open pontil point to an early date 1780-1820. [LJ] [ph:L]
