Whiskey jug with beautifully engraved initials "T J H" on one side and a floral spray on the other. This piece was made by the Dorflinger factory in White Mills, PA around 1870. Dorflinger was one of the premier glass makers in 19th century America. Mrs. Lincoln ordered a glass service from them for the White House and they continued to make replacement pieces for that service well into the late 19th century. The bottom is cut in a star pattern, the facet cut stopper is original. It stands 7" tall, without the stopper. [lj][ph:L]
