This is a non-dug manuscript “I” infantry button as used by the Confederacy.  Coat size. Face is bright with beautiful details. The back displays the maker’s backmark, “Halfmann & Taylor . Montgomery .” in an outer ring. Shank is present and straight. [ld][ph:L]
