Troiani is arguably the best military artist around and has been for decades, uniquely combining artistic talent and historical accuracy from in-depth, impeccable research.

This signed and numbered print depicts the 124TH New York Regiment, also known as “The Orange Blossoms,” in line of battle at Gettysburg on Houck’s Ridge just east of Rose’s Woods on July 2, 1863. Colonel Ellis is shown mounted behind the line of battle over which the National colors are waving. Behind Ellis is Major James Cromwell and Adjutant Ramsdell while in the foreground a wounded private is bandaging his foot. Just inside the right edge is bugler M. P. Ross.

The print has some minor edge wear across the top and faint creases on the sides but all this is in the margin and not the print itself. There are also two very small spots of dirt just below the printed caption. Colors are excellent.  Print is unframed and not matted. Lower right is signed by the Mr. Troiani and is numbered 806 of 950. Original certificate comes with the print.  [ad] [ph:L]
