This Treasury Note was issued to the Richmond & Petersburg Railroad company in the sum of five thousand dollars and was issued on the 28^th of February 1863. It was authorized by the Confederate States Congress on the 16^th of May 1861. The Note is signed by the acting Register of the Treasury. The center vignette is of two goddesses.  [ws] [ph:L]
