This Treasury Note was issued to the Richmond & Petersburg Railroad company in the sum of five thousand dollars and was issued on the 28th of February 1863. It was authorized by the Confederate States Congress on the 16th of May 1861. The Note is signed by the acting Register of the Treasury. The center vignette is of two goddesses. [ws] [ph:L]
