Preprinted document is filled out in period ink. The document has a water stain over half its surface and has edge wear with a chip out of the top center.
Document is dated “?? TEXAS DECEMBER 30, 1864” and covers $46.66 2/3 cents was deposited in the C.S. DEPOSITARY’S OFFICE in old issue treasury notes and will be exchanged for new issue treasury notes.
The name of the depositor is unreadable. Signature at bottom is partially obscured but the last name of “PRIESTLEY” can clearly be seen.
Reverse has small piece of cloth or archival tape near top.
Any Confederate documents from Texas are hard to find. [AD][ph:L]
