An original piece of Confederate money, being the $20 CSA T-58 bill featuring the Tennessee State Capitol with a portrait of Alexander Stephens at the bottom right corner.

These bills were signed by various clerks, The first four bills were made official on April 6, 1863. They were stamped the date they were first put in use in red ink to make sure that the holder was reminded to put these notes into six percent interest savings bonds.

Engraved by Keatinge & Ball. Dated April 6th 1863. Plate letter, A.  Hand written serial number, 104234. This note has light blue on the back. The printing is clear and the contrast good. Two or three pin holes, no wrinkling. A typical Confederate bill.    [jet] [ph:L]
