An original piece of Confederate money, being the $20 CSA T-20 bill featuring a seated woman (Industry) behind a large “20” with cupid and a beehive in the center. On the right side of the note is a seated woman (Hope) with an anchor and a palm tree. In the lower left corner of the note is a drawing of Alexander Stephens, Vice-President of the Confederate States. Back is blank.
Dated September 2, 1861. First series. Red ink serial number, 151055. The printing is clear and the contrast good. Several pin holes, no wrinkling. Centered well; trimmed tight. A nice, early Confederate bill. [jet][ph:L]
