An original piece of Southern money, being a $1 note from the State of Texas, Austin. Featuring a woman with pail along left edge.
Dated July 1, 1862. Serial number in ink, 26756. “ONE” and background printed in orange on front, blank back. The printing is clear and the contrast good. Many pin holes, two folds, cancelled with brown ink “X” overall. Centered with complete frame. A note from Texas is rare. [jet][ph:L]
