An original piece of Confederate money, being the $100 CSA T-40 bill featuring the railroad and ship transportation in the center of the bill. There is a woman with basket on her head on left side.
Dated July 28, 1862 in ink. Plate letter, A. Serial number in red ink, 22201. The printing is clear and the contrast good. One or two pin holes, couple of folds, some edge damage. Centered well with complete frame. Stamped in red on reverse, “Interest paid to 1st January 1864 at Macon.”
A nice early Confederate bill. [jet][ph:L]
