An original piece of Confederate money, being the $20 CSA T-20 bill featuring a woman seated next to a beehive, cherub, and the number 20 in the center. The lower-left corner is a picture of Alexander Stephens. On the right edge is a standing woman and an anchor with a palm tree in the background. There are roman letters “XX” in the bottom right corner signifying the denomination of $20 bills for this confederate note.
Engraved by B. Duncan in Richmond. Dated September 2, 1861. Plate 5, Series 2. Serial number 63814 in red ink. Blank back. The printing is clear and the contrast good. A couple of pin holes, no wrinkling. Centered well, trimmed tight. A fine Confederate 1861 bill. [jet][ph:L]
