An original piece of Confederate money, being the $100 CSA T-39 bill featuring a vignette of a steam train (with muted steam) in the center while to the left, a milkmaid is featured. Trains played a critical role for the Confederacy during the war, moving supplies and troops across the South.

Dated October 2, 1862 in brown ink. Plate A. Serial number 58538 in red ink. Signed in brown ink. The printing is clear and the contrast very good. An “Interest Paid” stamp on back. Scattered pin holes, light wrinkling. Centered well, trimmed tight.  A good Confederate 1862 bill.    [jet] [ph:L]
