An original piece of Confederate money, being the $100 CSA T-39 bill featuring a vignette of a steam train (with muted steam) in the center while to the left, a milkmaid is featured. Trains played a critical role for the Confederacy during the war, moving supplies and troops across the South.

Dated August 23, 1862 in brown ink. Plate A. Serial number 37553 in red ink. Signed in brown ink. The printing is slightly dark; some bleed through from back. Several “Interest Paid” stamps on back. A few pin holes, no wrinkling. Centered well, trimmed tight at top.  A good Confederate 1862 bill.    [jet] [ph:L]
