An original piece of Confederate money, being the $100 CSA T-39 bill featuring a vignette of a steam train (with white steam) in the center while to the left, a milkmaid is featured. Trains played a critical role for the Confederacy during the war, moving supplies and troops across the South.
Dated June 17, 1862 in brown ink. Plate A. Serial number 4913 in red ink. Signed in brown ink. The printing is clear and the contrast very good. Ink counter signed on back with several “Interest Paid” stamps. No pin holes, no wrinkling. Centered well, trimmed tight at top. A fine Confederate 1862 bill. [jet] [ph:L]
