This Pennsylvania note from the October 25, 1775 issue was printed by Hall and Sellers on paper containing blue threads and mica flakes.

This Five Shilling bill is far scarcer than lower denominations. The four lowest denominations were smaller in size and features type-set on the reverse rather than the nature leaf print.

The Penn family crest with the motto "Mercy Justice" can be seen with the front along with pillar style borders. The reverse boasts nature print of two leaves along with "To Counterfeit is DEATH".

Three strong ink signatures: Charles Jervis, Philip Kinsey, and Thomas Shoemaker. Numbered in ink “147”. A fold across the center and several sets of pin holes.  [jet]  [ph:L]
