Preprinted document filled out with a typewriter. Document meas. approx. 8.50 x 14.00 inches and is in very nice condition.

In the document Mrs. Lou M. Jones of Jasper County, Mississippi is asking for a pension from the state of Mississippi for the service of her husband S. D. Jones who served in Company H, 37th Alabama Infantry. Document is signed by Mrs. Jones and dated August 31, 1935.

Samuel D. Jones was born in Alabama on May 9, 1843. He enlisted as a private in Company H, 37th Alabama on March 18, 1862 and served until surrendered at Durham Station, North Carolina. He died at Heidelburg, Mississippi and is buried in Toomey Cemetery, Frost Bridge, Mississippi.  [AD]
