the back and dated August 11, 1863 to Hester Jackson in the amount of sixteen dollars for the family of an unnamed soldier in the 51st Virginia Regiment. Signed by Tho. H. Simmerman, Com. for 8 district. Countersigned on the reverse, not by Mrs. Jackson but by John Felty with two unreadable initials underneath, probably a witness.
