This letter certifies that the Co. “G”, 46^th US Colored Infantry ordnance return has passed the administrative scrutiny of the Ordnance Bureau. Endorsed by “Lt. L.J. Michael/ Co. “G”, 46^th US Col. Inf./ 17^th Corps”.

The 46^th US Colored was organized from 1^st Arkansas Infantry of African descent in May 1864, and was posted in Vicksburg, MS, through November 1864, and later ordered to Brazos Samtiago, TX, prior to mustering out in January 1866.  [jp] [ph:L]
